If you are anything like me, then you love crafts, and you are a bookworm through and through. As someone who devours books in their free time, I can read a minimum of 2 to 3 books a day when I am on vacation, but sometimes I want to get myself into crafts, which inspired this blog.
So, come along with us along with us, and let’s discover some of the craft you can do if you have old books lying around or crafts that uses books as inspiration. So, without further ado, let’s get into the list of crafts that all book lovers will be excited to be part of.
1. Hangable Quote
Have you ever been reading a book and come across a quote that struck you? Then, my friend, today is your lucky day; you can memorialize this and make your own artwork with it. Some quotes are so powerful or personal that you have to make them into art that people can appreciate when they visit your place. All you have to do for this craft is own a printer and photo frames.
If you know how to use Photoshop then, it is even better, and you can use this skill and get fan art online and make it as the backdrop for your quote. So, get your artistic shows on, and let’s create a wall-art that will inspire you day in and day out and that will make you smile whenever you see it.
2. Book safe
In my books, pun intended, this is the best way to upcycle an old book that has a beautiful cover but has below-average content (Jane Austen, I’m talking about you here). This can also be the perfect DIY gift for someone who loves books. They are simple and can be a wonderful gift for both adults and children alike.
Hiding your precious stuff in a hidden location will never lose its appeal and allure. You just have to cut a hole in your book and carve it out, and it’s a pretty didactic craft. If you are going to gift it to someone, then you add some trinkles and gifts inside and let your friends discover this beautiful hand-crafted gift.
3. Personalized Journal
As someone who learns a living by editing books and writing, I can tell you that a journal is a must-have for me and is a really time saver at times. I get so excited whenever I’m gifted a journal or diary, especially if it is one that is book-related. At this point, I have spent so much money on books and journals that if my partner ever looks at my credit card, he would murder me.
But that is neither here nor there. You can create your own journal by following our guide on how to create your own book, and the concept is the same. You can personalize your journal by printing fan art and sticking it to the journal or even order a journal online that you can customize yourself. The ball is in your court, and you can do whatever you want to personalize your journal.
4. Bookmark
If you have ever been a bookworm who has been broke before (most of us in college), then you know the joy of creating your own bookmark. This is the best crafting idea for people who are craft-challenged, which was me in the beginning. Contrary to popular belief, Crafting takes time to be good in.
All you’ll need is a ribbon and sturdy paper for this craft. You just have to cut the paper into the shape of your average bookmark, and you can do so by tracing an old bookmark. And after you’ve done this, you just have to punch a hole at the top of it to attach the ribbon. This is the basics of creating a bookmark.
To give it additional pizzazz, then you can add drawings to it, or if you aren’t that artistically inclined like me, then you can add a quote from your favorite book to it.
