Ecology Experiments You Can Try at Home – Examining the Environment of Living Things

Ecology Experiments You Can Try at Home – Examining the Environment of Living Things

All living things, plants, animals are all deeply influenced by the environment – by factors like water, heat, light, soil and other plants and animals.

Did you know that you can observe the effects of the environment upon living things?

How Does a Change in Temperature Affect Animals?

How Does a Change in Temperature Affect Animals?

During the summer season, temperatures may vary in many areas between the day and night. But, how do these changes influence living things?

If you want to discover the striking effects of temperature on animals, try the following experiment:

Place a small goldfish in a pint jar filled with water to within about an inch of the top. Record the temperature of the water. Then, count the number of times the gill cover moves per minute. Next, place the jar in a shallow pan or bowl. Next, place the jar in a shallow pan or bowl and fill it with ice water. Record the temperature and then count the number of movements of the gill cover per minute. Empty the pan and keep filling it with water at different temperatures ranging up to about 100 °F. Count the gill cover movements per minute at each different temperature after recording the thermometer reading. For greater accuracy, make three counts at each temperature and average them.

So, how did the movement of the gills vary with temperature? Not all animals of the same species have equal respiration rates. Does a large goldfish have a different rate from that of a small goldfish at equal temperature?

What Are Some Factors That Limit Population?

What Are Some Factors That Limit Population?

Populations of various kinds of animals and plants exist on earth and these populations vary in kind and number from location to location and month to month. One important characteristic here is the density of the population.

Here is a population experiment carried out with fruit flyDrosophila, widely used by scientists for research. Fruit flies are ideal for your experiment because they are small, easily obtained and easy to maintain and also because they reproduce in from 10 to 12 days. It is possible to breed many generations of these flies within a short period of time.

You can collect fruit flies by placing a large piece of banana in an open jar and placing the jar outside. After several of the flies have made their way inside the jar, cover it with cheesecloth and bring the jar inside the house and leave it there for about 15 days or until a number of fruit flies have been observed.

Now, place a piece of banana of about ¾ of an inch in length in the bottom of each 2 pint jars and two pieces of banana of equal size in each of 2 other pint jars. Cut strips of paper toweling ¾ of an inch by 3 inches and place them over the bananas. The fruit flies will be able to attach themselves to the paper and feed on the banana, without sticking to the latter.

Place 4 fruit flies in each of the 4 jars. A fine-mesh cheesecloth should be used to cover the jars so as to allow oxygen to enter and to prevent the flies from escaping. Place the jars in a location at room temperature. Let 10 days elapse. Then observe the jars every 5 days for 30 days and record the approximate number of living and dead flies in each jar.

Compare the different counts of dead and living flies for each jar. What are some of the possible reasons for the differences? Would the total number of flies be greater if you used quart jars instead of pint jars? Would the number of flies be greater if you provided more food?

So, which experiment would you carry out first?

DIY Home Improvements

9 Easy-to-Ambitious DIY Projects to Improve Your Home

Like many homeowners, you may have contemplated a home improvement project but lacked inspiration or time.
Don’t beat yourself up; nearly half (43%) of all homeowners say their biggest challenge in deciding on a home improvement project is finding time which may explain why the same percentage of people say they have unfinished home improvement projects.
Here’s a selection of projects you can tackle on your own.

Beginner Projects

New Faucets

Faucets
Faucets

Attention to detail is key to this project – you don’t want to flood your kitchen because you forgot to turn off the water valve – but no previous plumbing skills are required and a shiny new faucet can generate a lot of day-to-day pleasure for a bit of effort.

Light Fixtures and Switches

Few things can change the mood of a room as quickly as lighting. Replacing an old light fixture with a new one – or an on-off switch with a dimmer – can change the atmosphere for any occasion. Switches use the same wires, so you can handle a switch if you can swap a fixture.

Fire Pit

This is a great task to do with kids. Celebrate once done with a s’mores party. Based to a Zillow analysis of thousands of real estate listings and sales prices, the price premium for homes with fireplaces is 2.8%.

Smart Tech Upgrade

There are countless smart home products to choose from and some require more than plugging in a device or changing a light bulb. Here are a few things to consider:

  • Smart Doorbell/Camera

The installation is similar to replacing a light switch. To do this, you need to remove your old doorbell and connect the device to your Wi-Fi.

  • Smart Locks

Do you have a family member who constantly loses their house key? Substituting a traditional door lock with a keyless system that you operate via a smartphone app or touchpad is a simple solution.

  • Smart Lights

This project is as easy as installing light bulbs. However, the setup requires coordination with a smart home system, as each system has its own controls and requirements. If you already have a home system, make sure the bulbs you choose are compatible. If you are thinking of buying a new system, remember that it must work in harmony with the products you already have.

Intermediate Projects

Cabinet Refresh

Updating your kitchen doesn’t have to involve significant renovations. You can have an entirely new look by changing the door and drawer handles, painting your cabinets or removing cabinet doors to create an open shelving effect. If you have lots of wall space and not enough cabinets, you can also easily create open shelving. A bonus: homes with open shelving sell for 4.2% more than expected.

Barn Door

Sliding Barn Wood Door
Sliding Barn Wood Door

By replacing a traditional overhead door or enclosed slider with a barn door that slides on a rail, you can give your room an eye-catching look, increase the space, and change the furniture arrangement options. And your effort could pay off in other ways, too: barn doors come with a 5% price premium.

Advanced Projects

Board & Batten

You may not be accustomed to the term but you’ve probably seen this classic design element in several homes. Precision is required here and that means you need the right tools, namely a level, tape measure and miter saw. But if you can envision a 3D element on your drywall, you’re ready to go.

Garden Shed

Garden Shed
Garden Shed

If you know how to build a garden shed, you can find numerous instructions and plans on the internet to suit your taste. If you do not feel up to the challenge, you can improve your existing unit or buy a garden shed and design it according to your ideas. First, consider whether you need the shed for storage or additional living or work space and then go from there. Houses with a “she shed” are associated with a price premium of 3.6%.

Heated Floors

This is the kind of project you can attempt if you missed your real job and ended up in a desk job. It’s labor-intensive and calls for the confidence of an experienced handyman (and some math skills), but if you manage to warm up your home from the ground up, you’ll become a hero or heroine in your own home. This project is ideal if you have already planned to replace the flooring in a room and have the opportunity to install a heating element. Houses with this equipment sell 4.9% more expensive than expected.

bullet journal

Bullet Journaling 101: A Beginner’s Guide.

Bullet journaling has become very popular on social media for being ‘aesthetic’, with more and more people picking up the hobby and making it part of their daily routine. Are you looking to dive in as well? This article covers everything you need to know to join the wonderfully creative world of bullet journaling.

Before starting, keep in mind that everyone’s bullet journal is different. Yours does not have to be like the ones on Pinterest. It has to be yours, a space where you feel comfortable writing and can therefore be as simple or as fancy as you want…

Bullet, Journal, Closed, Exterior, Grey, Pens, Tombow
You Will Need Some Basics.

All you really need to get started is a notebook and a pen. You can grab a few colouring pens or crayons if you want to add a splash of personality to the whole thing, or you prefer stickers and glitter, those are also options.

Now that you are all set and ready to start journaling, what are you actually going to write about? In a bullet journal, you can log your weekly or monthly goals, the current projects you are working on or your to-do lists. At the end of the day, it is your bullet journal you can add whatever you want. Since I like mine to be a little bit more interesting, here are some of my favourite bullet journal logs.

Goals

As I mentioned above, you can log your weekly and monthly goals, but you can also log your weight goals, food or water intake goals. Once you’ve prioritized your goals, break them down into smaller, more achievable steps.

I suggest you write down your bucket list in your bullet journal, too—things you want to accomplish by the end of the year. Every time you open your journal, it will automatically remind you to work towards your goals.

Gratitude

These journals are used to jot down at least one or two things you are grateful for, which will help you be more conscious and cheerful. Gratitude logs might help you find pleasure and tranquillity. I suggest you do that daily before going to bed. It will help you relax and focus on the positive rather than on a load of tasks that may be waiting for you tomorrow.

Along with gratitude, you can also log some affirmations. Write down your positive thoughts for a better life.

Budget

One of the most difficult things to keep track of is one’s finances. If you don’t learn how to manage it, it may be a source of tension and anxiety.

A simple and efficient method to stay on track is by using a financial tracker bullet journal layout to keep track of your finances. You can opt for a budgeting plan and log your monthly expenses into your journal to have a clearer idea.

Pro Tip: Add up your receipts so that you know exactly where your money has gone at the end of the month.

Log In Your Budget, Mood or Goals.

Mood Tracker

Do you want to discover if your good days exceed your bad days? Mood trackers are a fun and effective way to keep track of your feelings throughout the day. The mood tracker can also be used to assist you in discovering mood-altering factors throughout the day.

What I love about the mood tracker is that you can be as creative as you want. Sometimes I am lazy and keep it as simple as colouring small squares, but sometimes I draw flowers, mandalas or leaves where each part represents a day.

You can have a creative and colourful bullet journal or a plain one with only black and white designs. It depends on how much time you can devote to this activity. Let us know in the comments below if you have a bullet journal or if you are now thinking about having one.

DIY Home Improvements

DIY Home Improvement Projects to Try While You’re Stuck at Home

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in us staying at home more often. Even if social distancing policies are removed, it is clearly going to be a different summer than most of us were probably anticipating at the beginning of the year. Why not take the opportunity to improve your surroundings with a DIY project? Even if you’ve never tried a home improvement project before, bear in mind that it doesn’t take developed skills or a lot of experience to make a substantial design impact. It’s also something the whole family can get behind. Here are the best DIY projects for all levels.

Swap Out Hardware

Swap Out Hardware
Swap Out Hardware

Anyone who knows how to use a screwdriver can transform a room simply by changing the knobs and pulls on cupboards and drawers. It’s one of the few projects that requires zero skill. A serious kitchen and bathroom game-changer – even renters can do it. Just keep your old hardware and replace it when you move out.
It’s also a great project that can be done on a budget. The gold color is sophisticated and goes beyond the standard knobs and pulls that many of us have in our kitchens. You can also swap out the hardware on furniture, such as media centers and tables, to instantly upgrade pieces. Adding designer pulls and knobs is also an easy way to upgrade an inexpensive piece of furniture.

Install a New Kitchen Backsplash in Minutes

Is your backsplash outdated or old? Peel and stick tiles are an affordable and simple solution. If you can get them applied on nicely, you can probably get the project done. Like replacing hardware, it is also a great idea for renters who feel stuck in their kitchens. You can find a well-curated selection of peel and stick tiles in some of today’s most popular styles, including Carrara marble, quatrefoil and classic subway tiles.
These high-quality tiles are packaged in sheets that can be easily cut with a razor or box cutter. They stay in place without damaging the underlying surface. When you’re ready to move or change things around, just peel them off. No one will be able to differentiate between regular and peel and stick tiles.

Add an Interesting Focal Point With Wallpaper

Tiles are not the only thing you can stick. Peel and stick wallpaper is simple to lay if you have the patience and time. Designers have lots of beautiful options in every style, including Novogratz, Bobby Berk and Cynthia Rowley. Peel and stick wallpaper can be used to decorate an entire room or just as an accent in the bedroom, bathroom or home office. Children’s rooms are great spaces for peel and stick wallpaper because the style will change as they grow.

Paint Walls in a New Way

Lime Paint
Lime Paint

Paint can have a big impact, but lime paint can take a room to a whole new level. This type of paint gives the space a rich look reminiscent of a Mediterranean hotel, with color variations that traditional paint cannot offer. It can be used on a wide range of surfaces, including plasterboard, plaster, brick, cement and stucco.
Remember that lime wash should be applied with a brush, not a roller. Brushing helps to achieve a soft, patchy appearance. Two coats of lime wash should be applied with the brush in overlapping strokes. It is important to keep the edges wet during application to avoid ‘wavy’ lines.
This paint should also be sealed in high traffic areas such as kitchens, hallways or bathrooms.

Paint Trims and Moldings

Another great way to use paint is to skip the whole wall and just paint the trim around the doors and moldings. This can work in any room. It is also a more manageable project than painting a whole wall. Just be sure to use plenty of painter’s tape.
Then choose a semi-gloss paint or a paint specifically formulated for this purpose. You can choose a bright shade like pink, black or blue to make moldings pop and create an entirely different look.

D.I.Y Gummies

How To: At-home Gummies

Gummy bears are a popular treat among both children and adults, and while store-bought versions are high in sugar and chemicals, creating your own is surprisingly easy. If you want to treat your kids to something healthy, try this recipe for homemade gummies.

Remember that this is a basic recipe that you may want to alter and add your own delicious twist to. Supplements can be added to make them more nutritious or to keep them hidden from fussy kids.

Before we get to the recipe, let’s take a look at how store-bought gummies may damage your health in the long run. To begin with, the major component in these gummies is glucose syrup. Regular intake of glucose syrup can result in obesity, high blood sugar, poor oral health, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

Sugar is the second ingredient, followed by gelatin and dextrose. The four main components of these little gummies are simply sugars in different forms. We don’t have to look far to know that they aren’t healthy foods.

Let’s jump to the fun part, making your own gummies…

orange green and pink candies
D.I.Y Gummies.

For the recipe you will need:

  • One and a half cups of fresh juice or vegetable juice.
  • 4 tablespoons of gelatin, I suggest grass-fed gelatin but you can use the plain one.
  • 2-4 tablespoons of raw honey. You can use any type of natural sweetener too.
  • Half teaspoon vanilla extract.

Steps:

  1. Then, set the saucepan over medium heat. Allow the liquid to warm but not boil. You want the gelatin to totally dissolve and become thin and runny. Do not worry if it is grainy at the beginning after a couple of minutes in the heat, it should dissolve completely. Combine the honey, vanilla extract, and any other ingredients you’ll be using in a mixing bowl.
  2. Refrigerate the liquid in a small jar, or in a loaf pan or in your fun gummy molds for around 2-3 hours.
  3. Remove them from the refrigerator then from the mold, this shall not be difficult. Cut your gelatin into little squares if you’re using the loaf pan.
  4. Refrigerate your homemade healthy gummies for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container. They will last even if left outside, but I recommend storing them in the refrigerator.

Turn Them Into Vitamins Bomb.

Turn Them Into Multi-Vitamin Gummies:

Providing your kids with the right dose of vitamin daily is essential. But we are all aware that things like cod liver oil, while incredibly beneficial to your child’s health, doesn’t taste good.. Trick them into taking their vitamins through your homemade gummies.

You can choose your own flavours, but I suggest going with natural flavours such as fruits and vegetables as our body absorbs best from natural sources. You can proceed by juicing your fruits and veggies, however, keep in mind that you may lose some fibre.

The best part of making your own at home gummies is that you can add anything, they will be your personal health bombs pack with whatever nutrients you want. You should be careful though, do not switch your prescribed vitamin with the gummies, this is just a supplement. If you have been prescribed a vitamin, take it as prescribed by your doctor. Let us know down in the comments if you are willing to give our recipe a try.

Face Mask

How To Make Cloth Face Masks

As many countries have mandatory masks due to COVID-19, we wanted to create a simple fabric mask design that can be made at home.
When wearing the mask, make sure your mouth, nose and chin are covered and adjust as best you can to leave no gaps, and avoid touching the front of the mask while wearing it. This design is reusable; simply wash at home with hot water and detergent. It is advisable to wash it after each use and remember to use clean hands while putting on and taking it off.

Picking the Right Fabrics

The fabrics used to make the mask are very important. The mask must comply with the guidelines used in the United States. Make sure you follow the fabric specifications listed in our materials list below:

  • Outer layer – 100% water-resistant synthetic like Polyester 26 X 26 cm
  • Middle layer – poly/cotton blend 25 X 25 cm
  • Inner layer – water-absorbing fabric – linen or cotton 25 X 25 cm

Tools

  • Sewing machine
  • Scissors
  • Dressmakers pins
  • Fabric chalk
  • Small safety pin
  • Bamboo skewer or similar
  • Matching thread

How to Make a Cloth Face Mask

  1. Cut your fabric to size; the fabric of the middle layer and inner layers’ fabric must be 25 cm square and the outer layer 26 cm square.
  2. Place the middle layer on top of the inner layer of fabric. It doesn’t matter which middle layer is facing, but make sure your inner layer faces the right side out. Pin the outer perimeter of the fabric and sew them together using a straight stitch 5 mm from the edge inwards.
  3. Take your outer layer of fabric and lay it flat with the right side facing down. Place your inner and middle layers on top with the inner layer facing up. Fold back the edges of the outer layer of fabric, iron flat and secure. You may want to cut a diagonal from the material to get the corners right.
  4. Along two parallel sides, fold back 1cm and iron flat.
  5. Using straight stitch, sew the two edges in place and sew over the line created in step 3 for a clean finish.
  6. Fold back 1.5 cm in the other two sides, pin and stitch as above. In the next step, you will thread the elastic through their sides, so do not sew the ends closed and be sure to leave enough room for the width of the elastic bands or fabric.
  7. If you use elastic straps: cut the rubber bands into two 20 cm lengths. Attach a safety pin to one end of your elastic straps and thread through the channel created in step 5. Fold it back around itself and secure in place. Sew the loop closed either by hand or by machine. Check the fit and tighten if necessary. For a correct finish, you can pull this join back into the ruched channel.
  8. If you are using fabric straps: cut two 140 X 4 cm lengths of fabric. Fold them in half lengthways, right side inwards. Then sew a straight seam 5 mm from the long edge, leaving one of the short edges loose and closing the other edge.
  9. Next, we turn them out using the blunt edge of your skewer (or whatever you have). Start with the short edge that you twisted in the previous step, and use the skewer to push that edge into the channel. Continue pushing the length of fabric along the rod until the short edge comes out the other end. When it does, carefully pull it all the way through. Iron the tie flat and sew the short open edge closed, either by hand or machine.
  10. Attach a safety pin to the end of your tie and thread it through the side channels of the mask, repeating on both sides.

Tie and Dye

The Complete Guide to Tie-Dyeing for Beginners.

At-home tie-dyeing isn’t a brand-new concept. Tie-dye is a simple and inexpensive DIY activity for adults as for kids. It is so easy that it is almost impossible to go wrong. With the help of our complete guide, you will be able to achieve the perfect tie-dye outfits.

Step 1: Choose Your Fabric.

First, you’ll need to decide what you’re going to tie-dye – sweatshirts, t-shirts, socks, and underwear are all readily available and ideal for at-home wear. Cotton is amazing at absorbing colours and holding them even after several washes, so 100% cotton shirts work best. You may also use a 50/50 blend of cotton and polyester, but the end product will be less vivid. Only natural materials, such as cotton, silk, and rayon, are fully compatible with dyes.

Pre-Wash Your Shirt: Before dyeing your clothes, give the garment a good wash in hot water, especially if it isn’t brand new. This process ensures that any oil, dust, or other substances that could resist the colour are thoroughly removed.

Step 2: Choose Your Dye

Dye kits are readily available at craft stores. Everything you need for the process, such as rubber gloves, rubber bands, soda ash, urea, and detailed, easy-to-follow directions, are included. All you need is warm water, as the colours are already in squeeze bottles. If you do not want to buy the kit, you can still purchase single packets of dyes, and then you will have to buy your squeeze bottle separately.

Step 3: Choose Your Design

Bulls-eye: Determine the location you want to be the center of your bulls-eye. Pull your item upward from that point until the remainder of the cloth hangs down. Tie one rubber band just below the center point and then a second one a bit farther down.

Continue to apply rubber bands to the cloth in short intervals until you reach the bottom. The position of the rubber bands is where white rings will emerge, so you may choose any colours you like for the bulls-eye circles! Each banded part might be a different colour, or it can all be the same colour you choose.

Sailor Strip: Start by pleating your fabric vertically. Attach your pleated fabric with rubber bands uniformly spaced. You may add as many rubber bands as you wish. You may make broad stripes by spacing the rubber bands further apart or narrow strips by placing them closer together. It’s up to you.

You may use as many dye colours as you like with the striped tie-dye design, whether it’s one or six. Have fun with it and try new things; there’s no wrong way to tie-dye! If you wish, you may change the colours or skip portions to leave them white. As you apply the dye to the pleated fabric, rotate it to ensure that the dye is applied to the underside and sides of the piece.

Spiral: Place your wet T-shirt (or fabric) on a covered surface and lay it flat. Locate the middle of the collar and the area immediately under the sleeves for a perfect center spiral. This will be the focal point of your spiral tie-dye! At this stage, pinch the cloth and twist it into a swirl. Continue to tightly twist the fabric until the entire garment has taken on a spiral shape.

To keep your spiralling shirt in place, use three rubber bands and crisscross them to make six wedge shapes. You can use as many or as few dye colours as the wedge forms created with the rubber bands allow.

Tie Dye, T-Shirts, Bright Colors, Hippy
Spiral Tie and Dye.

Step 4: Let It Rest

Allow any extra colour to drop off the fabric once it has dried. We know you’re tempted to have a look at your work, but really, do not unwrap it for now.

Allow 6 to 8 hours or more for the dye to be fully set. Put in a zipper bag or cover with plastic to keep wet while the dye cures for maximum results. Wash once the dye has completely set.

Step 5: Rinse And Wash!

Remove the rubber bands from the shirt and unwrap it. Make sure to use gloves during the whole process. Using cold water, rinse it until the run-off is clear. Then wash it in cold water in the washing machine without putting any other clothes in (to avoid transferring colours). The garment is now dry and ready to wear!

Tell us in the comment which one of the designs mentioned above appeals to you the most.

DIY Cardboard Box

6 Things You Can Create Using Crates and Cardboard Boxes

-Leftover cardboard
-Cloth to cover it
-Adhesive for cloth

Method
-First, cover the entire box, inside and out, with the cloth.

How to Make Lipstick at Home?

Lipstick has a rich and long history, I’d say, which goes back to the queen of the ancient Sumerian Period.

Some wear lipstick to boost their self-confidence. Some to complete their look. Others to draw attention to their lips and appear more attractive to the opposite sex.

Whatever your reason for making it your “go-to” makeup item, have you never felt the need to make your own homemade lipstick?

Method 1:

Method one of making lipstick

Step 1 – Gather Your Supplies:

Before we come to the ingredients, decide on the container you will use. Lip balm tubes or small pots with lids are excellent choices (and these should be made of metal, glass or plastic). And, if you are reusing any containers, make sure to soak them in hot water and clean them thoroughly with a cotton ball soaked in white vinegar or alcohol.

Other materials you’ll need:

  • small heatproof bowl or glass measuring cup
  • saucepan or double boiler
  • glass dropper or pipette
  • spoon or spatula

Now, what you’ll need for the recipe:

  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) beeswax or beeswax beads, which can be easily found at any local craft supply store.
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) shea butter, mango butter, almond butter or avocado butter. This ingredient amplifies the smooth-rolling side of the lipstick.
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) oil, like almond oil, extra virgin olive oil, jojoba oil or oil of soya.

Once you’ve got your basic supplies, it’s time to select a color for your lipstick. Different substances can be sued to create a range of red, pink, brown and orange shades and here are some options:

  • Create the typical bold, dauntless bright red lipstick with beetroot powder or crushed beet chips.
  • If you are more for the brownish hue, take some cinnamon from your kitchen.
  • Mix haldi(mostly known as turmeric) with some other substances to give birth to a more coppery tone.
  • For a powerful and deeper brown shade, use cocoa powder.

Step 2 – Melt the Ingredients Together and Mix In the Color:

  • Place all the base ingredients in the top of your double boiler or heatproof bowl.
  • Heat around 2 inches (5 cm) of water in a large saucepan over medium-high heat and then add the ingredients in a small pan and place it inside the first one.
  • Let the water simmer until the mixture is melted.
  • Here’s the fun part: when you add in the ingredient for the color of the lipstick.

Step 3 – Pour the Mixture Into Containers:

With a dropper, transfer the liquid into the tube or any other container. Do not forget to leave a little bit of space at the top as once the mixture will cool down, it will expand. And, please do not close the lids until it’s hardened (better is to wait for at least 30 minutes).

Method 2:

Making lipstick with eye shadow

Step 1 – Get Your Eyeshadow:

You can either use that old eyeshadow that’s been lying in your drawer for ages or buy a cheap one. Be careful not to use the gel form but the loose or compacted powder.

It’s pretty difficult to find green, blue, black in lipstick shades and that’s why we are using eyeshadows as they can work as color pigments. And, if you like sparkling lipstick, add a little shimmering eyeshadow to the color you’ve chosen.

Scoop a big chunk of the eyeshadow in a bowl and mash it up with the back of a spoon.

However, do not let this slip from your mind: some eyeshadows are not safe at all to be used on your lips. How to figure this out? Check the list of ingredients. If it consists of ultramarines, ferric ferrocyanide, and chromium oxides, forget about making your own lipstick.

Step 2 – Mix the Eyeshadow Powder With Petroleum Jelly:

In a microwave-safe bowl, add about one tablespoon (15 ml) of petroleum jelly and one teaspoon (5 ml) of eyeshadow powder. Heat the mixture until it melts.

Step 3 – Pour the Mixture Into Containers:

Once again, you can use an old lipstick tube, a cosmetics pot or any other container.
